…but seriously, the first two lines of this story are.
“This is not my hat. I just stole it from someone.”
Lovely choice of concept to impart upon a child, especially when coupled with colorful and appealing artwork. Of course, Jon Klassen knows what he’s writing and it definitely stands out.
In the words of a friend of mine:”How did this book get the Caldecott…??” (I may or may not be mostly sarcastic here. lol)
